I think the surface on the other half makes Jolla the most slippery phone I've ever used. Well maybe my Motorola Defy was even more slippery. I have really big hands so it's not that my hand doesn't grab it properly.
If the sides would be a bit "rubberish" it would help a lot.

i had a simular Problem with my Jolla... So i designed a protection / antislip-shaped other half:
i ordered a rapid-prototyping model made of this.
as soon as it arrives from the manufacturer i'll send some more pictures.
who ever likes this can have the .stl model of this prototype.

The Other Half arrived Today!
i Have to admit, that i had to do a little correction - due to i did not think off the phone expanding slightly with its front (rounded front). The Plug for the 3,5 audio can't be used - the hole is too small :-(
but get an impression here:
i will upload a 3D model with the adjustments as soon as the job is done.

Very cool! Nice effort!! I can imagin that Dirk van Leersum (FunkyOtherhalf.com) would be very interested in the .stl model :D
