Listing songs just brings up the album art and shows only couple songs, witch means you must pretty much always scroll the page to get to the songs. I think album art should be as ambiance background in this view.

I respectfully disagree on the point that the album art should be used as ambiance. That would break the consistent look and feel for every app.
I agree. I'll post some mock-ups with suggestions later (@work now)

I find it clunky as well. It could work as a background image if used subtly enough. Maybe it would fade away as the list is scrolled downwards. Maybe the listing could begin at around the center of the album cover if not at the top of the screen.
