I disabled the local calendar (pulley menu) but new events still use this calendar by default

it allows to add marks to any calendar, I prefer that it not show disabled calendars at all.

I just wanted to fill out similar bug, but with different calendar. Could you possibly change the title to '[Bug] New entry defaults to disabled calendar' so it is more general? Thank you.

If my theory is correct, with 1.0.8.21 (Tahkalampi), the default calendar for newly created events is the calendar last used.

Is this case, a disabled calendar is picked as default only one time, at most. Since you won't asign a new event to a disabled calendar, you will pick another, non-disabled calendar. And this will be the default calendar for the next created event.

So this bug might be considered 95% fixed. (If my theory is correct) ;)

There should be a possibility to set up the calendar in Settings / Apps / Calendar. Some other stuff should be be configurable too, like a standard reminder time.

And I'm sure I should post this elsewhere, but hey, I can't always seem to find all the relevant postings. When I create a new event on the Jolla, and it is synced with Exchange, the type is "Free" instead of "Busy".

not for me. Private is disable but always as defaut calendar for new event

The last calendar used seems to be selected by default so entering one entry to Google calendar selects the same calendar next time.

I still consider it a problem that private calendar is used as a default even if it's disabled.

EDIT: Have to take this back. For a few next entries this was true but now on the next day the calendar defaults to private again. Haven't rebooted or anything.
