Rotation lock is very nice new feature! Very unlike and awesome idea. Thanks for that.

It would be nice if orientation remains locked for _all_ applications until phone is physically rotated again. That will be very helpful e.g., when using phone in bed or other circumstance when you don't want the screen to be auto-rotated.

In settings there is System -> Display -> Orientation that allows you to select between dynamic (default), lanscape, and portrait orientations, that does quite close to what you suggest.

Yeah, I think this is fair enough, but there is a point in between where the orientation should be reset by moving the device rather than changing the application. That'd be cool :-)

Afaik keeping your finger on the screen will prevent rotation.

@Philippe yes but problem is that when you change program you have to do it again, and that settings method is not useful for every day life because it is too complex to change all the time...

So, a use case: you're in bed reading RSS feeds via Tidings, you locked the screen with the as-is feature. You have to go to a webpage at some point - orientation lock gets screwed up because you change the application. I assume that dynamic orientation lock gets reset by application switch, when it should be by device rotation (in other words, when the accelerometer senses enough movement indicating that the phone has been rotated at least 90 degrees).

Maybe will be good hack for setting rotation sensitivity. I want always less sensitive than it is now.
