Too many Ambiences? [not relevant]

My phone complains, that I have too many ambiances, so I can not add more. I think that I can decide myself if I have too many ambiances. There shouldn't be limits.

I had more then the now allowed. I hat to unstar like 10 ambiances before I was allowed to add new ones. There was no impact on performance/screen-space/memory issues.

Also if you unstar an ambiance, it will lose the settings for the ringtones.

  • How many do you have?
  • Is the pure number of Ambiences the problem or the number of Ambiences you have favorited, i.e. you are offered on the Ambiences Chooser screen?

Limit is 18. Sad .. :\ I have ~300 ambiences created from 540x960 wallpapers for test .. quick change between all this not possible ..

I have 13 favourited Ambiences, and another 35 Ambiences available from Gallery (i.e. 48 Ambiences in total).

So: I "starred" some more.
When I had favourited another five (giving me a total of 18 favourited Ambiences), I got the message

You have reached the maximum number of favourit ambiences.
Remove some old favourites to add new ones.

You do know that you can just go to
Gallery → Ambience → select any Ambience, and then from its Pulley choose Set ambience
right? No need to favourite them, unless you want to

Set ambience as favourite, accissible with push gesture from Home and Lock screen
(which should probably say "swipe gesture", not "push, but that's another issue).

This may just be me, but do you really need more than 18 favourited Ambiences, or is it just for test purposes (as in "I'm trying out how they look)?

(Also: The dimensions for Ambiences are 540x1600.)

If the complaint from the device is about a max. number of Ambiences available in Gallery, then I agree that it's something that probably should be fixed.
If the user wants to, they should be able to fill up the user-available memory of their device/microSD with Ambiences. ;-)

@phle Yes, On normally use 18 favorite Ambiences is enough. But why create limits itself ?? :)

1) Just for test purposes .. "You do know that you can .." do this ugly operations for tens Pictures in loop for eliminate bad ones? Half of pictures are unusable as Ambience.

2) Also, read properly before write. "I have ~300 ambiences created from 540x960" => I have simple script for expand pictures with imagemagick tools.. :D

I just have many ambiances and I don't want to switch to the Gallery App. Also you cannot set ambiance specific ringtones, if you do not star them. So I want to star as many ambiances as I like.
