This morning, my alarm went off at 6:20, like it is supposed do.

I could not silence it however.

  • The home screen was active, but pressing the power button did not return the phone to lock-mode
  • I tried opening and closing the alarm application without luck.
  • The usual overlay for alarm notification was nowhere to be found.

When it finally shut up, I was awake and so was my girlfriend who wasn't planning on getting up at the time.

Edit: Worth mentioning, that I've been using Jolla as my primary phone since 19th of December. Never had this issue before upgrading to 1.0.4.20

Did the power button silence the alarm in earlier versions? You are supposed to pull the screen bottom-top to stop the alarm (and top-bottom to activate snoozing). Both gestures silence the alarm.

The overlay displaying the normal pulley menu was missing. So there was nothing to pull down. My home screen was active, not the overlay displaying my alarm.

The power button didn't silence, but locking the screen and unlocking the screen sometimes reveals missing overlays/windows.

I had the exact same problem this morning. I never experienced this before the update. The only way I could silence the alarm was by rebooting the phone.

Did you try to disable (and re-enable) the alarm from the Clock application? That should dismiss the alarm.

No didn't try that. Will try that next time. Still should be considered a bug that the overlay/window that displays the alarm notification can simply disappear.

you have the karma, just close it

@r0kk3rz better to give it a while, as no-one has either confirmed a bug or told not having it - So I just brought this up for a while for that reason, and closing it later (as outdated) if there are no new updates on the issue
