The new orientation setting present in 1.0.4.20 does not work with Android application - they rotate freely.

Even the Dynamic lock gesture is not working.

How to reproduce:

  1. Go to Settings -> Display and set the orientation to Portrait
  2. Launch an Android app
  3. Rotate the device to landscape

What should happen:

  • Display orientation should stay in portrait

What happens instead:

  • The screen rotates to landscape

EDIT: Still present after the 1.0.5.16 update.

EDIT 2: Fixed in the 1.1.1.26 update.

You could try to download an android app that locks the orientation. Not an answer just a comment :D

still present after 1.0.7.18

Also the direction of edge-swipe gestures (down to close; up to go to notifications) are not honoured within android apps if the rotation is locked.

A workaround is to install 'Rotation Locker' (tetris-like icon purple and blue icon) from the google play store. This is persistent and will last across reboots and allows you to force an orientation on all your android apps.

At least with the "Dynamic Lock"-Feature I can't reproduce this anymore in Version 1.0.8.21.
