Hi,

if I delete an email that was marked unread, the counter in the first screen of the mail app is not updated.

Same issue here. I've got three mail accounts. 2 exchange and 1 Gmail. One of the Exchange accounts says that I still have 2 unread messages which is not true.

It would be great if deleted emails would be marked as read by default...

I support the idea of marking deleted as read or at least not include them when counting unread. Same would apply to spam (unread spam should count as unread, even if it arrives to the phone)

You mean the combined inbox ? the counter next to the account name ?

If that is working as designed, that counter reports all unread messages in that account for the synced folders, does not matter the folder the message is in.

Yes, I mean this counter. While I understand that it works as designed, it would be better to apply mark as read to mails that the user deletes. I personally find it very irritating and don't know this behavior from other email clients.

In my opinion the mails in the deleted folder should not be counted in the mail app combined inbox/account page.

This way the read/unread status doesn't need to be changed and the dedicated folder view will show how many unread mails you have in your deleted folder.

I agree with @Kari, we will improve it since it causes confusion.

My unread Email Counter worked fine until the update to version 1.0.8.19 Tahkalampi. Now i have to close the the Mail app and and restart it to get the correct counter. Otherwise, the counter doesn't change when a new mail has came in or when i deleted / read a mail
