I normally use only 3G data-connection and for some reason if I use the Wifi hotspot, then switch it off, the phone immidiately connects to my Wlan which I didn't have enabled, before using the hotspot. I think this is a bug because I can't think of a reason why the phone should work like this.

I've read elsewhere on this site one other also seeing this happening. Anyone else?

EDIT: I got the feeling that I should add that this strange hotspot behaviour also causes severe battery drain for me. Battery drain discussed HERE For me the battery looses about 40% power overnight if I have used the Wifi Hotspot. (switched it off, of course, along with the wlan-connection that was enabled) A simple reboot though fixes everything and I'm back to normal 4-5% power consumption over night.

This is still a bug in Vaarainjärvi 1.1.1.27. At least something similar. It often works as it should but sometimes it leaves the wlan on even if it initially was off. I have recently factory reset my phone so it is probably not just a bad configuration.

Also sometimes the hotspot fails to turn on and I have to try several times before it starts. When it doesn't start it often turns on wlan. Seems to be some bug with the wlan status. Put both wlan and hotspot toggles as favorites to be able to see both indicators at the same time, enable/disable the hotspot and look at the funny behaviour of the wlan indicator.

This still happens in 3.1.0.11 and XA2.

As when you turn on wifi hotspot the wifi chip itself needs to be turned on. (Basically it is just switching a mode for the wifi chip). So I guess when turning off wifi hotspot it just changes the mode back to normal wifi access. (access to your router) It is a bug. It should save the state of your wireless lan and restore it later on when wifi hotspot is turned off.

What happens to me often is that I: - have WiFi enabled and have been connected to WiFi eg. at home - go to office where there is a public WiFi that needs confirmation on web page - confirm / agree to terms of service and use the Wifi - notice that phone has lost WiFi connection (but not gained 3G / cellular data) - switch WiFi off in settings (because it just causes me to lose connectivity...)
- open a browser and phone asks whether I would like to use WiFi or cellular data. How? I have WiFi switched off...

1.0.4.20 Update brought this bug. 1.0.5.16 Paarlampi did not fix this. The strange behaviour and battery-drain are still present.
