Have had this bug from the outset and none of the releases supposed to fix this have done so.

This is NOT related to opening email from the notifications screen. It is just as simple as opening an email from within the email application.

There is no loading circle animation and the screen just returns a white blank screen. Subsequent attempts to open the same mail have the same effect. Nothing exceptional about these emails. Some have attachments but most do not. Upgrading to 1.0.4.20 has not resolved the issue.

Interesting... I've never had this except in rare cases where the email was rubbish. Could you perhaps make an example email and pastebin somewhere the full thing (headers, etc.) for further troubleshooting?

Will do. If I forward one of these emails they appear blank. They download fine on my N900, N9 and thunderbird on the PC. It appears that the full email data is not getting to the Jolla rather than a display problem.

I just had the same issue with an e-mail sent from a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, between Yahoo accounts (don't know if it's relevant). The email had image attachments which downloaded fine, but the text content never loaded, having a continuous loading circle. The pulley menu was also inaccessible, although visible. The e-mail loaded fine on my N8.

I never see the loading circles for my blank emails.Mine come from my email host (madasafish).

@bockersjv Ok. Then our issues are slightly different in behavior, but might still have a common cause. Can you access the pulley menu from that e-mail?

If you are having this problem in a POP account probably means you have created the account using Update1 SW were there was a bug, you need to recreate the account to make it work fine, alternatively for the ones familiar with the command line, these steps can be done:

//install accounts tools:
pkcon install libaccounts-glib-tools

//List all your accounts with following command:
ag-tool list-accounts

// Find the ID of this account and do:
ag-tool update-service YOUR_ACCOUNT_ID_HERE email bool:pop3/autoDownload=1

in the command above replace only 'YOUR_ACCOUNT_ID_HERE' rest should be left intact.

Sorted this last night using the above info which was sent direct by Jolla Care. Have not seen a blank email since. I deleted the accounts and added them again as i keep the mailboxes clear. But for those who have mail to keep there is a terminal solution too, which is good.

Many thanks Jolla Care, great service.
