For the moment, UI lets user select following choices for reminder:

  • Never
  • At time of event
  • 5 minutes before
  • 15 minutes before
  • 30 minutes before
  • 1 hour before
  • 2 hours before
  • 1 day before
  • 2 days before

For all day events, i guess this is relative to midnight, which is not what user want in the general case. Please let user choose the time of the reminder for these events (or, better, for all events).

Note that it would still make sense to have a list with:

  • on first day of the event
  • 1 day before
  • 2 days before
  • maybe more days before, or even 1 week before

But the most important is to have a sensible time to remind the user. Not in the middle of the night !

I wanted to post almost the same request. I would say, all events should also allow for custom reminder times, not just predefined ones. It should't be too difficult to add a "Custom time" option which would open the date time picker. There are a lot of situations when the predefined reminder times are useless.

Great. Would it be too much to ask for double alert? In case one have an event ... 3 weeks ahead with departure early in the morning. How about if you could set prealarm alerting for example a day before to make necessary arrangements for the event and in addition to that also set wake up alarm for the morning of the event. Then there is no chance you could forget to set wake up alarm for the event.

Hasn't this feature been implemented yet? I think it is a shame to not have this by default, SailfishOS users want freedom and they are not even free to set a custom reminder. That is something any feature phone can do and if Jolla smartphone can't do that it is definitely not smart! By the way, we can rename the question to "Calendar: let user select reminder time for events" instead of "Calendar: let user select reminder time for all day events" because some people want to set a custom reminder even if it is not an all-day event. Currently the only workaround is to set a custom event time instead and choose the reminder "at time of event".

@Jolla095 the idea to have multiple alerts is interesting, sometimes I had to create multiple events for this... I think you can create a new question if no one else already did it.

Edit: there is a similar question for multiple alerts https://together.jolla.com/question/54569/suggestion-more-versatile-options-for-calendar-event-reminder/

This topic is opened for many years now, and still not implemented. Quite a basic featuee and should be fairly easy to get working. Wonder if there is specific reason this is ignored for so long....

it's more than 4 years this was requested and i still cannot find a way how to define custom time for event notification. I hope somebody will correct me and it is possible somehow, otherwise it's really sad...
