I would like an option to keep the display lit while charging. For example while playing music, it would be nice not to have to wake it just to check the song. And anyways it is nice to look at the beautiful screen .. ;)

it could even be a parameter linked to one of the options on the USB plug screen

I'd say this is, more or less (see first and third comments!), a duplicate of "display sleep after "never" option ie. "display always on" is needed".

Apart from that, I'd say it would be nice to, in addition to your request, have a separate option for "Display: Sleep after ... " when connected to charger.
(Say, I normally want my display to automatically go to sleep after 2 minutes, but when connected to charger, I want the display to automatically go to sleep after 10 minutes - or, as in your request, "never".)

If you agree, let's close this question.

There is no settings UI for this, but from command line you can use the following commands to stop the display from dimming or blanking from home/application view when charging (the blanking from lock screen still happens).

  • mcetool --set-inhibit-mode=stay-on-with-charger

or

  • mcetool --set-inhibit-mode=stay-dim-with-charger

and back to default behavior with

  • mcetool --set-inhibit-mode=disabled

The mcetool can be installed via: pkcon install mce-tools
