Getting the poppy-red ambiance [answered]

There's a beautiful poppy-red TOH for sale now (http://shop.jolla.com/cat-the-other-half/the-other-half-poppy-red.html).

The problem (if you can call it that) is that I was one of the preorders, meaning I have already that colour, albeit with a blander ambiance.

Is there any way to also have this cover's ambiance with the #FirstOne cover, given that it's ambiance just a recoloring of the default one?

Related question/ideia: Is there a way to have a TOH provide multiple ambiances ? For example it would be cool if Kiera also provided a GunMetal/Carbon/Generic ambiance alongside the current Industrial one.

Related question/ideia 2: What about sets ? If you have both white and black you would unlock a Black&White ambiance.

Id rather assign my own ambiance to the 2 halves i have as i find the white and TOH ambiances really ugly and the ringtones aren't to my liking either. This is just wasted potential as at this moment there is only a ID on the halves and the content gets downloaded, so why cant we assign our own ambiances to the halves we own?

As i see it, the use of the other halve now, is the worst case scenario of usability gauged on the features announced in the pre-order campaign.

You can build it yourself. Get the sounds from merproject profile: http://vk.com/merproject?w=wall-40681615_4836%2Fall The wallpaper is hosted on jolla khazakstan: http://jolla.com.kz/uploads/user_3/files/wp_poppy_red-2.jpg You can then copy /usr/share/ambience/ambience-the-first-one to "ambience-poppy-red", copy the downloaded files into the new folder and finally change the contents of the two configuration files accordingly...

"Special" ambiances are for the people that payed for the matching TOH. Officially. Technically if you get a way to extract the ambiance from a mobile phone that already has it you can use it. However they are not open source neither distributing them is encouraged (by jolla).

As for the rest of your questions is up to the jolla design team.

I understand that. I've purchased the Aloe and Kiera TOHs because of that. it's just a bit silly that given I already have a poppy-red (thefirstone) cover, I have to buy another same color one just for the new ambiance...

@gabriel I thought care@ is primarily meant for communicating real problems, not expressing one's opinions of a product. For the latter, tjc seems to be the appropriate medium.

I wouldn't call it a freebie. I already have Poppy-Red Cover, because I pre-ordered. Must I buy yet another Poppy-Red Cover just so I can install the slightly different ambiance ?

I kind of understand what you mean. However, it's also much more fun to make your own ambiences anyway. Take a nice picture, load up some sounds, and you're set to really peronalise your Jolla...

It's quite easy to take pictures that work well as a theme. There's a grid on the camera that you van use. Other than that, it's fun to experiment with colours, contrast, sharpness etc.

I also have original "The First One" poppy red TOH. Even though that new TOH looks similar, it is still a different product and sold as a different product. So I don't think you can claim the right to also have that new ambiance installed on your phone just because those covers look almost the same... So officially there's only one way to get that ambiance: Buy the new cover.

Btw: I like your idea with TOHs providing several ambiances (or some kind of ambiance-manager where you can chose what ambiance you want to use with a certain cover).

No, ambience which comes with the Other Half is always mapped to that specific Other Half (TOH) meaning that you can't have e.g. The First One TOH with Poppy Red ambience.
