Hi,

I am trying to set up my different email accounts and I have one, where I have to use at different server for outgoing emails - that is imap and smtp server are different, use different usernames and passwords. It seems that the settings for the smtp server overwrite the settings for the imap server. I can send emails, but I can not access the imap server and read any emails. If I reopen the account settings page, the password for the imap server has the same length as the smtp server!

I tried setting up an account without outgoing server but that is not allowed. Any Ideas why this is? And where can I find the config files to just type that information in myself?

side question: as this is clearly a bug, can anyone point me to a bug-tracking site (if there is one that's open)

thanks

Hi had the same error after switching to Sailfish X and do a relogin. The Mail client always wants to login with the SMTP credentials - if I change the IMAP password it is not used, also the username is not used. Adding a new account works fine... For me, its a bug!

@Garonenur - That length of the dots in the settings does not represent your actual password length, is a indicative number for security reasons, during account setup you can give different passwords, when you enter your imap password it will be auto-field for smtp as well since this is most common cases, but you can modify it before you complete the account creation, many users have same setup and works fine.

thanks! good to know about the 'dots'! I think the problem might be, that the imap server has an SSL-cetificate that is not signed. Other mail clients ask for confirmation, jolla mail does not. I guess that is the real problem and I should ask a new question on it.

@Garonenur - No that should not be the problem. Probably you just have wrong settings, which one is not working incoming(IMAP) or outgoing(SMTP) ?

incoming does not work. I will test if changing the encryption works.

@VDVsx: sorry didn't have the time. Maybe today I will check with the admins of the mail server.
