When composing the MMS, it would be nice to know how many bytes the MMS is. E.g. with data prepaids this would be valuable information. Correct place for it might be under the text field or top of the screen.

sending MMS is not eating from my normal data-quota, are there providers doing that?

@chemist: Yes. In my case, for example, the monthly fee covers a certain amount of text messages, voice minutes and data. MMS is not included at all, though, each message will be charged.

@ossi1967 yes, every MMS is charged separately but if the MMS data sent is charged upon your monthly quota of your internet there is something wrong with your provider (mentally). I pay 39c/MMS, so I pay 39c for an SMS with a link and hosting of the linked data, if they would charge that upon my monthly internet quota I would go somewhere else for my contract.

The current implementation has non-configurable (via UI) message size limit of 300KB. You can be sure that no MMS message sent by Jolla will be larger than that.

E.g. I just today tested SFR France's Prepaid and MMS was supported and charged. I'm quite sure that there are operators which will charge those. But for my other purposes that would be great.

I also think that this information would be very useful.
