I have currently situation with Jolla's default email account syncronisation with IMAP folders.

The default email client is connected to email service of my isp provider (Saunalahti) and I am using the IMAP folders on that service.

My synchronization problems started when I noticed the the mail box was coming to full and decided to clean it a bit i.e. from 190MB down to 40MB using the web mail with laptop.

Since then I have continously received the syncronization problem with Jolla and default email account . It also seems that those local IMAP folders on Jolla still contains those mails that I deleted alredy over web at ISP-server side.

Any good ideas what I could do to make the default email client to work correctly again without the sync error?

Edit: Decided to create second default mail account and once it was set it synchronized with the ISP server immediately without problems => Is this now evidence of real bug on synchronization of IMAP folders i.e. user removes enough data from several folders at the same time and Jolla default mail client fails to handle the changed situation?

Running on SF OS 1.0.5.16

Edit 21.01.2015:

Works with update 10 SF OS 1.1.1.27. Also actions done with other device to same mail account are working as well as the refreshing of the common inbox view.

Finally after three days and numerous automatic and manual sync of the inbox folder it is in full sync with server.

@VDVsx In my opinion the clean up of the mail account from other device should be possible and despite how much is cleaned this kind of sync problem should not occur. Is this caused by some sort of timeout issue, which eventually results the sync error?

This should work fine, note that for folders other than Inbox, changes on server will not be propagated to device unless you manually updated inside the specific folder, however this should not impact synchronization in any way. Without logs hard to guess what happen :(

@VDVsx Is it still worthwhile to look the log files even the account has now worked for sometime already?

if yes, how to find the logs for you to further study?

Most of the cleaned items were located in inbox and all the other folders I managed to update manually as you indicate above comment.

If works fine now, logs won't help anymore.

Ok - When there is next clean up, we will see what happens then

I have had a similar issue with my Google mail account.

It all started a couple of weeks ago when I tried to send a mail with a large attachment (>20Mb), which obviously failed. After trying to send the mail without success, I removed the mail from my outgoing mail folder. Since then I receive sync error every time when trying to refresh the mail of this account. Other accounts work fine.

EDIT: OS version: 1.0.7.16

Hi, I have also exactly same issue Kari described. When my email-clients Trash-folder is empty there is no sync errors but when I delete mail ie. there is mail on Jollas Trash-folder, email sync error occurs and mail log says “NO Can't open mailbox Trash: no such mailbox“

@maake - need full logs to check that, you can send them to mail-logs at jolla dot com, mention this thread in the email and your email provider please, you can remove all personal information and replace it with XXX. Thx,

Hi, I resolved this. I can't remember for sure what was the solution. I think that I created manually via web-gui folder named 'Trash', rebooted Jolla and this started to work
