I noticed this too, couldn't really remember if it was like this before but seeing this topic I guess it is.

Edit: Oh great, the problem just went away on it's own, seems like it's not trivial to reproduce :( Nikka, can you try unplugging and replugging the headphones when it happens? When I tried a few minutes ago, I didn't have any sound until I plugged in and unplugged my headphones and when I plugged them in again, I didn't have distortion. Maybe that's a way to 'fix' it temporarily.

Same here with Bluetooth-Headphones (Creative WP-300). I recently thought my headphones are defective, but I connected them with my Win8-Tablet and the distortion is not there. This worked perfectly before 1.0.5.16 :-(

Here too. Can't use any of my Android music players. Happens with Bluetooth-speakers and with normal wired one's.

I have the same problem with spotify for android, one solution I have there us to turn down the volume that are sent from spotify to pulseaudio or whatever Jolla is using as the sound backend.

I noticed this issue (e.g. with spotify) as well (on 1.0.8.19). It's "a bit" annoying imho, so a fix (or workaround) would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

EDIT: At least when it comes to spotify the problem can be solved by lowering/reducing the volume within the app (via the volume-slider of spotify). (thx @oyviaase)

I was able to get around this by installing android volume mixer and lowered multimedia sounds couple of notches there.
