The exchange server I use required the device lock to be set. Now I have to type all the settings again. Although you have to set the account up usually only once, it still is annoying.

How about informing the user that you might need device lock enabled to sync with an exchange server?

Edit: don't know if it's possible, but also inform the user about how long the device lock delay can be, when the set up fails the first time. Now setting up the stuff for the 3rd time..

Afaik some exhange servers setups require "provisioning" (I think it is called like that). Which means a device lock needs to be turned on. That is probably why you have the issue. Of course you have a valid point.

It would be good if in this kind of case there were a dialog like "This account requires device lock to be enabled. Turn it on now? Yes/No" Or it could be just be enabled, and can it could be canceled with remorse timer. Device lock code should of course be asked from the user. This way it would not require people to type in the credentials several times.
