Hi, I recently noticed some jolla browser bugs:

  1. On a long page, if you scroll down the page and then double tap to read the text, the browser zooms the text correctly (paragraph displayed on full screen width) but the text is scrolled to the top of the page
  2. When you hit the back button on a page the previous page is shown from the top (the previous position on the page is forgotten by the browser
  3. if you open a tab that is in the background, the page is not fetched from cache but always reloaded, this slows down browser usability but also uses lot of unnecessary 3G data.

I'm available to provide additional info if it's not clear

Thanks for reporting these.

Issue 1) The browser scrolls to to top of the paragraph that is zoomed. This is similiar to what other mobile browsers like Chrome on Android do. I'm not so sure changing it would be improvment in all use cases.

2) and 3) are known issues because of our current tab implementation. That has already been discussed here: https://together.jolla.com/question/373/tab-reloading-browser-settings/ We are working on "real tabs" that will use more more browser engine instances so that the tabs are really "live". This will mostly resolve these issues. Real tabs will be released in one of the upcoming updates.

yes sadly it is but to get issues fixed it would be good if all issues are centralized at one location, its not easy to follow up on bugs etc from many different locations, github also has features to organize bugs based on tags like priority, what type of issue etc.

browser source is now open; okay. does that mean Jolla isn't looking at it anymore and its all left for those interested to fix it? :|

@Kiranos We do follow both this forum and github issue tracker.

@Anz Don't worry we do actively work on it.
