Install custom (CAcert) root certificates [duplicate]

I'd like to install CAcert root. I placed it in /etc/ssl/certs but there's no tool like Debian's update-ca-certificates(8) to re-generate ca-bundle.crt and ensure that it's kept after update.

What is the correct way to do this?
