Let's collect the car kits / car models which are having problems to work with Jolla (or vice versa). I have attached some screenshots also (if they might help).

My Renault car (make 2009) integrated bluetooth car kit is identified as "MY-CMLTB".
CMLTB stand for :"RENAULT. Commande Mains-Libres de Téléphonie Bluetooth"

I found out that there is a list of "compatible" devices per vendor at this document: http://www.renault.co.uk/media/PDF/bluetooth/atteb48eaa056ec41ad9cc3c07c697f5d8d/Compatibility-with-Bluetooth-Telephone-Hands-F.pdf

Maybe someone can ask Renault to test officially or to provide to Jolla technical details how to get in the supported list.

I got successfully paired with Jolla over bluetooth with 4 digits pass. But when I try to connect to it and use it as car kit handsfree I get only to "Connecting..." and no success. No connection established and no audio and control from the car kit to Jolla. Below is screenshot:

I tried with all connection types, but no success.

In the second screenshot below is shown the supported profiles (as per Jolla phone): OPP, SYNC, HFP.

Any ideas how a working connection can be established or when I can expect support from Jolla to work with Renault car kits are more than welcome.

Share you problems and let's hope Jolla will take care to fix them soon.

24.dec.2014 Tried on the new Renault Captur - the same Jolla - seems to work. Still no phonebook on the car media app , but at least can pickup a call or make a call using the car kit.

On the "old" (5 years old) Laguna, the Jolla does not work at all. It tries to connect vie bluetooth but usually does not succeeds. If I leave Jolla with bluetooth turned on, it still keeps trying to connect to the car audio (every 1-2 minutes), which makes the radio to mute for some seconds and then continues. Still the Jolla cannot connect.

I have read many forums and advices - you can succeed to pair the MY-CMLTB with Jolla is with some many trials of turn off Jolla bluetooth and car audio, start first the Jolla, then try to connect, and blah blah blah... Sometimes it works to pair successfully, but even paired, the Jolla cannot or receive a call on the car audio. My Nexus One (released in 2010 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nexus_One) still works on any car audio...

I still need quite often to use the phone in the car. So the question becomes - to change the car or the phone ?

It has to be the Renault BT implementation, my jolla works with VW's, Toyota's and Mazda's. From this I would assume that the Jolla implementation is as per the standard (even though there is no PBAP support), so it is really up to Renault in my view.

I guess there are some specifics implemented by Renault (or more probably its external vendor for BT devices support), but my 4-years old Nexus one was working fine.

I have a 2011 renault with the tomtom navigation build in, carkit works fine, all though connecting is buggy. To be sure it works there should be no other bt device in the area when you start paring. when pared, switch of and back on the radio. It will autoconnect and the basic functions should work. If not maby your radio needs an update, your dealer could help with that

Possible to connect my Jolla with a BMW via Bluetooth, but no syncronisation of my contacts. Have to choose them with the Jolla itself, telephone is running....

Thanks Teun. It worked with several pairing/unpairing and then switching on and off the radio. But this is odd. My old Nokia 3110 classic and old Google Nexus 1 were working every time. It seems to me like a software is not very well implemented in the phone.

Once connected I can make calls and receive calls. Strangely sometimes the connection stays "open" so I cannot use the radio system after using the phone.

Perhaps this thread here is also interesting: https://together.jolla.com/question/274/pbap-bluetooth-profile-support-is-requested/ I got a response from support today, that PBAP will be in update 6, perhaps also some other car kit related stuff that will fix some problems.
