Polar Beat and Polar Flow apps are available for Andoid. Is it possible (at the moment with current hardware and software on Jolla) to make them compatible with the phone? I'd love to be able to keep track of my activity and training with my Jolla. :)

Polar Flow in Google Play

Polar Beat in Google Play

And now I'm going to get wild and make an another suggestion. If it's possible to have these apps fully functional on Jolla, wouldn't it be great to have a Polar Other Half and some kind of a case to protect the phone i.g. from moisture while on the run!

Jolla and Polar, I'll be waiting! Move me!

I have researched the HRM possibilities, and these are the current facts: Polar H7 bluetooth transmitter needs Bt smart, which is not working yet on Jolla. The possibility to make a Polar other half that receives standard Polar HRM transmitters is high, there are electronics available, but need a manufacturer. This would be great, as the power usage is much less than on BT. Software wise It need native app to handle TOH.

Thank you for your reply, it was very informative!

So it's possible to "enable" Bluetooth Smart on Jolla, it's just not done yet and unknown if it will ever be implemented? I think that co-operation with Polar would add value for Jolla as a brand as the phone still lacks this kind of a feature. Training and moving in general is a very personal day-to-day matter for people and it would be amazing to have a phone that you can turn into a training mode just by switching the Other Half.

I tried to download from Play but the device is not "compatible" according to Play Store. I also tried to download the .apk from another source and install but it failed. :(

@Keso Thank you for your advice. Apk-downloader seems to be out of quota at the moment so trying this must wait. I downloaded the apk earlier from another source and installed using the same method as in the video you linked but the app won't install.
