Gesture like N9 [subjective]

You could be right for some things, but in the end we all go to how easy/intuitive and how practical the interface is. We now that Jolla is working hard to please a big part of the community and there is a list of priorities, but sooner or later the interface will be improved.

I didn't want to be too subjective and argumentative, my bad english can be a source of misunderstanding, but what I ask in this post is a way to apply plugins to change the homepage by a way "standard", "secure" and "documented".

patchmanager is a good approach for hacking and test, but it have many problems: - We need to uninstall lipstick-qt5 before each upgrade - It can add security problem - It is not officially supported by Jolla team and is a hack...

I think the QML homepage used in Sailfish is a very good way to have a very configurable interface, and an official way to change the default comportment can be a very high-value than Android or other systems...

If you understand what I want to say, I can reword my post and you can re-open this thread...

I think if many user think the same things (prefer some N9 UI parts), it can be interesting to speak about all opinions, to take account all differents usage of everyone... and to create the best interface...

@condo4 understood, I mean no harm with shutting you down like this. A niche linux mobile-phone, with an unfinished OS is what we've got for now. Any fancy stuff is already discussed but when and even if Jolla will implement anything people are currently hacking on openrepos/git is up to them. I can understand that people whom got used to HarmattanUI had or have their problems with SailfishUI - I am one of them. Nevertheless, the UI is slick bleeding edge design and once we get folders for the launcher, an api for lock-screen, access to the side-swipes and some other things everybody will be made happy as some sick developers will have some fancy stuff at hand for you in no-time. The changes, moving things around and resort the UI to reduce it to 3 pages like with Harmattan is something I cannot and will not support. This is Sailfish and not Harmattan2.0 - I like the idea behind, the clean design and the only thing pissing me off right now is that gestures rotate, sometimes.

I agree with @condo4. SailfishUI is particullary unclear. Seriously, this part should be the main objective to improve. Swipe gesture should be logic, and follow a 2d layers structure! actually it's not , and looks like a metaphysics OS like portal game. For example, swipping from the bottom should show animation in the same direction. I particullary dislike, when, from the notification view, I swipe from the left to close it.. So, sailfish OS is for now, not designed for standard brain. :(. So, hopefully it use qt inside :)
