Jolla phone sound still cracking and unclear [answered]

Using software the phone sound connection is still cracking and instable. Quite often this is interruptive to the phone conversation. There is some improvement after the last update, but it could still be much better. I hope further improvements are planned.

Sounds like a hardware defect on your device or bad GSM/3G network quality. I have no problems with my Jolla during phone calls. The overall sound quality is as good as on my N9. I'm located in Germany and using the T-mobile network (provider = congstar)

Can you please give some more details about your provider, location, GSM/3G network status/reception?

Have you tested with another phone and the same SIM card? If you don't hear any cracking, I suggest you write to care@jolla.com - FWIW, I had an over 40 minute conversation yesterday while travelling and while going under a tunnel where my N9 never had any signal at all, all this without any interruption and almost perfect voice quality, so it isn't impossible that your phone may be faulty.

I sent mine to Optima for repair. They replaced the speaker, and now the sound quality is near perfect.
