I agree anything above 48000Hz for listening is pointless, but it'd still be interesting to know the DAC used.

While resolution (how many bits are used per sample) is something you can argue about for various reasons sampling frequency is something that noone with a right brain can argue about. In the end both are limited by the abilities of the human auditory system.

@ApB I am not an audiophile, but I like listening to music. My trying at 'better listening' have always failed, being an improved amplifier with better headphones, or speaker or improved res/freq on audio. Maybe it's only just me :)

With the move towards digital formats being an "audiophile" has become less expensive. You only need a DAC, an Amp and headphones/speakers depending how you want to listen to your music. On the format front 16bit/44.1k should be more than enough for the majority of stuff (someone could argue for a few extra resolution bits) as long as the mastering is proper. On the equipment front your pocket is the limit.
