Is there a long press for £ currency sign?

£ sign was originally based on the letter L so that might be the best key to add it to.
The '£' is actually a letter 'B', as in Bradbury; it's not based on an 'L'.
Back in 1914 on the 7th of August, in order to avoid a run on the banks, the Treasury issued Treasury Notes signed by John Bradbury - a form of national credit backed by the credit of the nation! :)
