I would like to sync my Jolla Photo Library with the Gnome Shotwell Photo Manager on my GNU/Linux Computer without doing it by rsynching the device on developer mode, but straight forward, like any other Smartphone does that.
Copying the files with the gnome file manager and importing into Shotwell fails, due to the MTP bug...

As stated in the comments.
You can import your photos if you unmount your phone from filemanager and then come back to Shotwell and try to import.
Though its really slow compared to just hand picking in fileviewer and copying to a folder. From that folder you can import to Shotwell fast as its just a regular filetransfer. If you want to try this do check the settings in Shotwell so that it imports the files if you want them to be copied to you library folders.
I am using Debian unstable and the versions of related software are: Shotwell is 0.18.0-1 gvfs-backends 1.20.2-1 libmtp9 1.1.6-51-g1a2669c~ds0-3

Just use shotwell directly. There will be an item in the left bar where you can select the jolla if it is plugged in.
Works great for me with Shotwell 0.14.1

mcantsin ( 2014-05-11 11:22:17 +0300 )edit@mcantsin: No idea. I did notice it works better if you open shotwell from the pop-up menu when yo plug in the phone. Also it seems shotwell needs the phone NOT to be mounted in the file browser to work.
