Jolla to iPhone 4 bluetooth send file
It was not working for me. Did anyone managed to send a file using Bluetooth between a Jolla and an iPhone ?
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

There are still limitations on Jolla (compared for example to MeeGo Harmattan) when it comes to file sharing via Bluetooth. There is no global file sharing option (yet?) on Sailfish OS, but you can for example send pictures from "Gallery" app.
Furthermore iOS is very limited in sending/receiving files via Bluetooth and generally doesn't allow to share files with that connection. Apple wants their users to use stuff like "AirDrop" and cloud sharing.
So the hole Bluetooth thing isn't very satisfying at the moment. What kind of file did you try to share?
Ok that should usually work. Did that already several times between Jolla phone and Android/Nokia N9. So it must be an iPhone restriction. Apple has their own logic... A friend just recently asked me if it was possible to send her iPhone pictures to her iPad without using a cloud service. We didn't find a solution because: The iPhone supports Apple's "AirDrop" while the iPad doesn't and Bluetooth didn't work neither. So even between Apple devices it isn't possible without using Email, iCloud, Dropbox and co...
In such moments I miss the good old mobile phones where such things were easily possible between different products ;-)

Apple thinks bluetooth is only for headphones. They haven't yet discovered all the rest bluetooth has to offer! Or maybe they just want to lock-in their users to their cloud crap :O
Exactly, I remember back when I first got a smartphone, being excited about a song and trying to send it to a friend who had an iPhone; nope, iOS didn't accept arbitrary files being transferring over bluetooth, and they haven't added this capability in the meantime.
Having an OS that is ostensibly sans filesystem (obviously it isn't actually, but there's no file browsing available to users at least) means there'd be no sane way of even handling being sent arbitrary files, really, so it's a fundamental design issue of iOS itself, not even a matter of them implementing more complete bluetooth support.
