Save backup to PC or SD-CARD [released]

To prevent data loss, give us choice to save backup on pc or sd-card.

Indeed, backups are essentially useless right now if not saved on a computer or SD card. In the update system menu, or in the backup management menu, there should be at least a message, warning users to move the .vault folder from the home directory to SD card or computer.
A dialog to share the backups with bluetooth to the computer, or copy to the SD card just after realizing a backup could be even nicer.

Use Dump/restore to/from memory card from Backup UI menu. It is available since Update #4.

Thank you for the update, works fine. At least backup, didn't try with restore.

I think it is worth noting that "Copy to memory card" does not create a current backup; it takes all of the backups you have already made and copies them to a tar archive on the SD.
If you want to have a current backup transferred to the SD, you thus need to do the following:
1. Open the Settings application
2. Go to "System Settings"
3. Scroll down to "Backup"
4. Select all the items you want to backup
5. Click "Create" to create the backup
6. Pull down the top menu and select "Copy to memory card"
Then, when you have done a reinstall/factory reset of your device, you can use "Restore from memory card", and the most current backup will be the first choice. You then click that to restore it.
(I am almost certain above instructions are correct, but I did not test it myself, as I didn't realise until after a factory reset that this is how it works. Luckily I made a tar archive of the entire home directory and copied it off the phone with SCP/SSH to be extra safe. Happy I did now!)

Backup to SD is planned to appear in upcoming update. Backup to PC - later (need to understand what is the easiest option).

Especially on a phone that is known to be buggy as hell and will net constant resetting? I'm seriously starting to wonder if it was waste of money to support Jolla.

There only is no easy (fool-proof) procedure yet. With a few Linux commands you can save it all to the SD Card or tar and copy to your PC. I am sure, a solution without Linux command line will appear some day ...
