Normally, you need at least 2-3 seconds to wake your display swipe to the app cover view and reopen the camera app. If you are fast :)

Often i find this too slow to catch a certain picture/moment.

Imagine an option in the camera app that enables it to stay opened, so when you double-tap or press the power button to wake up the display, the camera app is immediately opened bypassing the home/lock view. That woud allow us to take pictures very fast.

All you need were 3 taps. 2 to wake up the display, 1 to take a shot. If i think about it, i believe no other phone can do it that fast. That feature would make Jolla even more outstanding and awesome :-D

I was thinking of something similar, a sort of 'secret agent mode'. Probably it is something which would raise privacy warnings in some countries, but would be a nice feature.

This shouldn't raise privacy concerns, it is only about fast and easy access to camera (UI enhancement). Great idea!

Great idea! But would it slow the screen startup and when you have gps positioning on. l think it would consume battery guite a lot as there is not a amoled screen to provide clock or battery status at the moment :D

I'm not sure about the additional battery drain, as the app itself is opened anyway. Perhaps the camera is normally deactivated when the app is send to cover view. With this option it would be on until you close the app. That's why i would rather make it optional. You know there are sometimes situations when you travel or party when this certainly would come handy...
