Connectivity Problems

Hi Jolla Community

I have got my Jolla phone since January and faced some serious connectivity problems since then. The bug were I had to resign to my accounts regularly seems to be fixed now, but there are still two problems for me:

  • Online accounts (Google and Facebook) are dropping connection from time to time and the chatclient reports about connection problems in the chat dialogues even if the account settings tell me they are connected. I have to go to the account settings, disable accounts, save, go back in, enable and save to get the connection back. This would be ok, if I get notified about a connection loss, but this way it is hard for others to contact me via chat. (SMS works flawlessly though)

  • In very rare situations the phone functionality will completely fail, which means that nobody can call me, and I can not call anybody myself. The phone application just says "calling" and stops there. Again, connectivity Indicater in home screen is reporting a working connection. I have to reboot the device to get the phone functionality back, so it does not seem to be a carrier/SIM problem.

I did a factory reset last week and updated again to 1.0.5.19 Paarlampi, but the problems are still the same. Hopefully there is someone who can help me with those problems.

As this is my first post I have to say that I am very happy that someone stepped up building a new phone and OS based on MeeGo/Mer. The people from Jolla did a great job in releasing their own phone with their own Software with just so few people. Thank you very much!

But still... it is hard to convince others from Jolla if they know that mine works so unreliably.

Same.. all people will make connected and unconnected samba :). Could be some Facebook problem too.

Is there another question about that? If all people are experiencing those problems there has to be somwhat. I can not see this issue listed as known issues in release notes, I can not see a fix planned for upcoming updates. I can not even find another issue posted here about that.

I could contact Jolla care, but if so many others are affected, there would probably be no solution.

I just need to know if there is a workaround, a fix planned, or a repair possibility. Otherwise I need to get another phone.

Well, my Jolla has now done that a few times. Rarely, but still. Can not make or receive a call. When calling, it just stays in the "calling" mode for a moment and then fails. Only cure is to reboot the device. Switching the flight mode on and off is not enough.

Same here! Even when I restart the phone sometime iI can't make/receive calls or the connectivity stopps after 1-2 minutes. The problem is, that the connectivity symbol is still showing 3G/4G. This is really annoying and makes the jolla unusable!!!

we are now on version 2.1.2.3 will this ever be fixed? Is Jolla interested in a working product or just vanity upgrades?

As a work around you can try enabling and disabling Flight mode. Also, update 1.0.5 seems to have issues with users, so you could consider doing a factory reset and not updating to 5.

I still have connectivity issues with a jolla C and intex aqua fish on all versions. I only have a single sim in the intex aqua fish device. this happens on versions 2.o.1.7 2.0.1.11 2.0.2.15 2.0.4.4 2.0.5.6 2.1.0.11 2.1.1.24 ( only on jolla C not intex aqua fish)

it seems this has been raised several times and closed as a duplicate including my own question 166052.

Will there be a fix for this?
