Meanwhile I am missing about 1 out of 3 calls because:

Because a shut down clears the call history and an unresponsive Phone up does not enter the current call in the call history, I cannot even call back (if the phone number is not listed in the People app).

Both problems have been discussed here already, but the frequency of the problem increased meanwhile to the state, that the Jolla is unusable. Callers are already complaining that I a do not respond to them.

(I have not been happy about the delay of the May update, because I hoped that this could solve the problems at least partly. Instead it is another 3 or more weeks I have to live a "limited telcom life". I think I read a question asking for a Jolla drop test: I am becoming a candidate for this!)

for someone this is not important https://together.jolla.com/question/43796/issues-with-phone-calls-and-sending-messages/

I think that a lot of people use smartphones like a PC and not like a phone!

IRC this never happened to me during the last 5 months I've been using Jolla as my primary phone. My usage is quite heavy, but I don't use Android apps (I open an Android app once every 1-2 weeks and close it soon afterwards). Can that be the cause?

"Instead it is another 3 or more weeks"

I thought the double update was supposed to come out this week.

I'd also heard that the double update was due out early June, so based on previous updates, I've been expecting it late June/early July. I have had intermittent problems answering phone calls, although I'm not sure if my "sometimes" use of Android apps is a factor. I will pay special attention to that from now on. Of course, I don't receive many phone calls on my Jolla because I can't get 3G coverage in Canada...

Try this: slide from left or right to go to main screen, then open phone app, then You should be able to receive the call. During this the ringing stops, but call is not declined. Be quick. This saved me a few times.

This is not a bug. It's just another user caused issue. I would try a factory reset to solve this issue.

"It's just another user caused issue." How do you know? The shut-downs actually have been confirmed by Jolla as being an issue. For the pulley menu problem, a factory reset has not been given as an answer in the original question (and not even mentioned in the comments).

(I am really hesitating to do a factory reset if it is not for sure that it will cure the problem. It simply takes too long until every thing/setting/data is reinstalled again.)

I don't really see how this is a user caused issue, even if I've never experienced it. Care to explain?

nthn ( 2014-06-06 12:25:37 +0300 )edit

well what is that supposed to mean? Why should a user be able to 'cause' such a thing? If he were, the method/function used to cause it would be buggy and we'd be back to step 1.

I noticed this issue after paarlampi update
