Gallery app doesen't regognize my photos from android[update 1.07 changes]

Hello all
I've been using telegram for android which - as far as I know - doesen't exist for sailfish yes(no, CLI is no option for me. Not on the phone.) Recently I recieved several pictures and I thought they'll be in my gallery. No luck. I did find them in the filesystem. I did find them using the filebrowser. I could open them with the jolla gallery app out of the filebrowser but they never appeared in the jolla gallery app.
So I tried it with a symlink. It worked! Finally! Until I did a reboot. Then it did not find the pictures anymore. I removed the symlink and made it again. It works again now. But I don't want to do a symlink everytime I reboot. So I came here with the hope that somebody knows a permanent solution!

PS: Does anybody know, why the hell there are exactly 0 options for sorting pictures? It's a pain in the ass to scroll so far down. Not even a basic option like sort for names. Not even sorting by folders is possible. Nothing.
UPDATE WITH 1.07: I just saw with 1.07 the location of the android data was changed, /sdcard/... is now a symlink to home. So the pictures are now in the homefolder by default. However my gallery still doesen't regognize the pictures in there without making a symlink in the ~/Pictures/ folder. Did I mess up something or am I not the only one with this problem? It would have been such a sweet solution :(
