If this is a dupe please close but a search didn't return anything that looked the same.

I received an email with a password-protected .docx file attached. I didn't at the time realise the file was 'protected' and downloaded/opened the attachment anyway. That failed (which is fine, not expecting that support) but the error was rather nasty:

For what it's worth, it wasn't orientation-aware so it's lucky that the 'OK' was visible so I could 'click' it.

I have encountered a similar issue, in which case the file I was accessing is not readable (no read permission). The error message is 'Reason: File not found'.

Same thing with password protected .xls files, haven't tried with ODF-formats, but if I've understood correctly the Documents app cannot access password protected files.

Same with PDF's as well > https://together.jolla.com/question/41249/unable-to-open-password-protected-pdf-files-in-documents/

Sadly nothing seems to happens on Documents app.

How is that nasty? Seems that the error msg is telling u the exact reason why the system could not open the file. Why do you report this as a bug?

@jjaone - I guess OP is referring to how unwieldy the error message is, it is size of a popup window (similar to one shown in desktop) and fully covers the phone UI. Although larger problem (feature request) is support for password protected files.
