I've noticed it in the past couple of weeks, but since I've been away from home a lot I haven't been able to arrange for service. A curious thing is that the yellow fades away if I put a very slight pressure (careful not to cause damage!) on the screen elsewhere, but reappears after a short while. Other makes of phone (fruits and robots alike) seem to have had the same problem, and it has been attributed to two different root causes: some component heating up the screen, or a spot of adhesive causing discoloration. Mine is on the right edge just below the volume down button - is there something that generates heat?

Mine is on the left on the middle of the screen.

Also, mine seems to get darker/larger as the phone heats, and disappear if the phone cools down enough.

+1 I have the yellow spot on the left side of the screen for a few days now, due to GPS usage too. That's disapointing, I hope that it is not a common issue due to hardware conception...

I got same yellow spot too, today. It's a oval beginning in the middle going to the top of the screen in Y (3cm) and located in the left by X (0.5cm). Transparency look like 25%. Doesn't introduce any usability problem, but really visible and looks annoying. Interesting, is this heating related to the 4G which were recently enabled?

I had a yellow spot on my screen too. I contacted care, and got screen replaced. Took only 4 days, from sending the phone to getting it back. So I advice you to contact care.

The yellow showed up when the phone was warm, after short period of use or when I took it from my pocket. If the phone cooled down, yellow spot disappeared, but since I keep my phone in my pocket most of the time, it was visible almost always.

Same here. Sent the phone to Jolla and they changed the display.

@Daniel That sounds disaappointing :/ Did they give you any reasom what causes the problem? Is it maybe a over-heating or battery problem, or some other not screen related hw or manufacturing defect?

@jjaone: No, I got no information, what causes this problem. But I think you're right, if you say, that overheating is the problem. The yellow discolouration was at exactly the same position just as the first time and this part of the phone was warmer than the rest. But know it becomes weird: They replaced the display for the second time and now the whole phone has the same - cold - temperature. Maybe both displays itself had an malfunction which causes overheating? In the end, I hope, that I will never see the yellow discolouration again and can enjoy my Jolla.

Hi~ As far as I can draw some conclusion of the yellow burn mark, though I have similar mark on the display, the cause is a previous pressure on that part of the screen.
