I have sync contacts etc enabled on for some of my accounts, but when I check from system settings->sync - sync history says no syncs done yet.
Is there a way to manually force sync on all or just some accounts?

If you go to the Settings app, then select 'Accounts', then go to the settings for a specific account - if you 'Save' the account, even without making any changes, a synchronization action will be triggered.

That's a different kind of sync (syncing between devices)... ;)
