I'm experencien random freezes after upgrading to 1.0.7.16. It's possible i've had this before, but i didn't take a look at the cpu usage of the processes then. The last working version was 1.0.4.20. I decided to take a look with the terminal app, with "top" command. I found out a process of the radio usergroup was consuming 105% CPU. It drained the battery from 100% to 83% in 15 minutes.

I tried killing the process, but this results in "no connection avaiable". Also i have to reboot every hour to have a working internet connection.

I've a "First one" jolla, my provider is T-mobile Austria, i use a 1 year old simcard.

Any Ideas?

I guess, "radio" is some 3rd party application installed from some store (Jolla or other), isn't it? I do not recall any "radio" app from Jolla. Check the list of installed applications and search for some radio app.

rild is the low level part of the phone stack coming from Android adaptation. It serves all mobile data communication and calls. Basically what you should check is not how many cpu it takes momentarily but how much overall time it was active (run ps aux | grep rild to see) it there.

the output is:

radio 665 65.4 0.1 16376 860 ? Sl 20:05 16:38 /system/bin/rild

root 2381 0.0 0.1 14648 1644 ? Ssl 20:06 0:00 /opt/alien/system/bin/rild -l libalien_native_ril.so

nemo 4312 0.0 0.1 5916 852 pts/0 S+ 20:31 0:00 grep rild

does rild only serve android applications or sailfish too?

/system/bin/logcat -b radio &> radio.log for a few seconds and then ctrl-c'ing, sending radio.log to carsten dot munk at jolla dot com might be a good choice..
