Hello there,

thanks for the latest update - it's great. I read the release notes and used search, but didn't find an answer:

Latest jolla update removes yandex dependency of alien android support and Yandex icon disappeared just after reboot without doing something - it's great, didn't love it anyway.

BUT: I installed some apps via Yandex earlier and now I see no way to update them. So I tried to reinstall Yandex store but I couldn't find it. Searched Jolla store - marketplaces - nothing about yandex. Are there any suggestions or other ideas to easily keep my installed apps up to date? With or even without yandex. ...

Thanks, Christian

BTW: I like F-Droid. - Not as much as Jolla store, but what about including it there under marketplaces'?

EDIT 2014-06-11: Thanks a lot to you guys. jgr was right: Yandex just moved its position to somewhere in the middle of the middle to end of the app list. So it really is NOT gone. But I still wonder how to reinstall yandex "officially" after it has been removed.

Thanks to the other answers, too. Perhaps I should give Aptoide a try, especially to get rid of Yandex.

EDIT 2014-06-15: Not shure whether it's a bug or not. Yandex should be somehow installable via Jolla store. Since it IS installable via download from Yandex (apk file) and I found the Yandex icon again, I'm closing my question.

Are you sure, that Yandex has gone altogether? I just found it back at almost the end of the apps list.

I cannot find yandex in Jolla store either. Even the category Marketplaces lists Aptoide only.

@moosiqpipl, you can install Aptoide and then install Yandex Store from Aptoide :)

Generally, as long as the signatures match (and they should), you can use any app store to install updated versions of your Android applications. I like Aptoide because it's more of a 'meta'-store, in which you select which stores you want to receive apps from. Do note that Aptoide only allows you to download free apps (or cracked versions of paid apps, but you shouldn't do that). Also, the version of Aptoide available in the Jolla store is an older version, but it should be able to update itself.

You can probably find the Yandex app store apk somewhere on the internet if you want to keep using it to update your apps, although I couldn't directly find it on the Yandex website.

I agree on including F-Droid.

I couldn't download Yandex Store from the website with native browser, WebCat (alternative browser for Sailfish OS) or desktop browser. I had to use an Android phone and then copy the .apk to Jolla. But the .apk still failed to install through File Browser.

But it seems we can install Yandex Store from Aptoide. Personally, I need Yandex Store because of my bank client app, it's only found in Yandex and Google Play.

F-Droid would be a good safe store.
