Hi everyone!

This is the first time i'm writing here, sincei've never had any problems with my Jolla. But, after the latest update, the phone is practically swallowing every data packet I'm throwing at it. I have a 1gb data plan, and on friday, the remaining cca 700mb of it disappeared during the afternoon, almost without any browsing or data consuming app usage. Then I bought extra 1gb, just to see it disappear in less after cca 5 hours. Then, I bought again 1gb of data, and it was gone in less than 4 hours, and this time I barely opened a couple of web sites. I keep my Jolla on 3G all the time.

Anyone with the same issue (especially after the latest update)?

thanks:)

Can't confirm... maybe check your apn data, perhaps there is a wrong dns or something causing the consumption. Or a big attachment to a mail, which wasn't complete and tried all the time to Download? 1gb in 4-5hours is quite a massive consumption... Is the device also warming up?

do you notice battery consumption to be higher than normal as well?

Can you give some more information about which accounts you have on the device? Exchange / Google / Facebook / etc? If you disable the various synchronisation services for those accounts, do you notice a reduction in data usage? It's possible that you're hitting a bug where data is constantly resynced, causing the data usage. Alternatively, perhaps you a large number of photos which are being synced from Facebook? Finally, if you can provide any top/powertop information to show which processes are causing the downloads to occur, that would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

seems to be a tracker-service issue. at least it is on a couple of phones. think its a media info collection service. kill process with crest or lighthouse. probably fix fs on sd card

I am abroad currently so I do not use mobile internet connection. However, my phone keeps asking me to connect to the internet (when WiFi is off) several times a day without any particular app opened. It is a new issue since the update. My phone has battery drain and heat up a lot from time to time as well.

For example, I just used my Jolla quickly for 2 minutes, it asked me to connected to the internet four times or so. Very annoying when it pops up while playing games or typing SMS.

It seems I solved the problem:), and it looks like it was related to my mail account.

Following all your suggestions, first I checked the apn settings, and they were correct. Then, I killed tracker-service with lighthouse. In the meantime, I've noticed that my mail isn't syncing anymore (my Fastmail account is the only one linked to my Jolla (other than the Jolla account). First, I just uninstalled the mail app and then installed it again, but the problem remained - so I was pretty sure that the cause of the whole issue could be in the mail account (not in the app). I deleted it and then created it again - and now the phone works flawlessly, and the data consumption is back to normal! So, it seems that after the latest update the mail account just went berserk.

Anyway, thanks to the suggestions, they were very helpful:)
