I was in Paris and these I noticed,

  • It was super hard to connect to free wifis around Paris, for example in mcdonalds, versailles. Tried several different places, like 5-7.
  • usually device found the wifi, then connected, then pretty fast dropped the connection, didnt find any wifis, and came back only after a reboot.
  • If it succeeded to maintain wifi, couldnt access jolla store and mail app didnt update.

Nokia N9, samsung galaxy s2 and ipad2 worked perfectly (like should of course) in every situation.

This was pretty bad UX.

A fail was to visit paris and eat at mcd, there a thousands of small restaurants that would have had a better food ux ;) Othewise, totally sad to read you had a bad jolla ux. How far did you troubleshoot? 1. entering flightmode and reconnect back 2. switching on and off wifi via system settings 3. Did you try pulling the battery for a cold start 4. Is your device hostname set to something different than stock setting? https://together.jolla.com/question/6335/how-to-change-jolla-hostname/

I am traveling a lot and never had wifi issues that could not be fixed by one of the above four.

I just went to mcd for the wifi :P I tried the 2 and to 4, command hostname in terminal prints jolla.

Someone seems to have had the same problem: https://together.jolla.com/question/36914/failing-to-connect-to-free-wifi/
