[bug] people app replaces image imported from .vcf

I've imported all of my contacts as a single .vcf file into the people app. Lots of the contacts also already contain an image which I want to use for that person's image. Connecting to a Google account will replace some (weirdly not all though) contact images in the people app with whatever the person has set as their Google profile image.
The images I've set should not be overridden without asking me first. There should at least be the option to select which image to show.
