Update: update 1.1.0.39 seems to have solved this issue, so I will close it. If anyone still loses connection as detailed in this post with update 1.1.0.39 or later, please reopen.

This has started happening after update 1.0.7.16, and still happens on 1.0.8.19. It doesn't seem to happen when using mobile data connection.

When you connect to Wi-Fi, after a while the connection seems to 'time out'. Usually the Wi-Fi indicator icon has 1-4 bars depending on connection strength, but in this condition the icon has 0 bars, and it is impossible to use any web services. All apps will say you are connected to the internet, but when you try doing anything (e.g. browsing to a web page or sending an IM message), nothing happens (the browser produces a white page and the message doesn't get sent). The only way I have found to get out of this condition is by turning the Wi-Fi off and on again, otherwise the device stays in the 'connected-but-not-really' condition and doesn't get out. It seems like this happens about every hour (maybe two), although sometimes it doesn't.

In my case at least, it happens with a WPA2 PSK network, and less often (once or twice a day, usually at night) with a WPA2 Enterprise network (eduroam). Please comment if you have the same problem and your network is either the same or different.

I think what @Manankanchu wrote over here could be an explanation or at least related.

This issue might also be related.

I'm experiencing this problem too, but I do not use DHCP in my home WLAN. Instead, I have assigned static IP addresses.

Even with the latest connman fix, the following happens after reboot, displaying either wlan symbol with a star or a striped one, no connectivity. My wireless environment has 6 base stations, both n and g, but Jolla connects to the closest n one here. WPA2-PSK. All other (12) non-Jolla clients work flawlessly.

Same for me, since the last Update, my WLAN is dying after one or two days completely. Scan for networks not working anymore until reboot. Even WLAN-Reset-App not working for me. Yesterday I even had the Settings-Tool to display in the first screen that WLAN is enabled (white dot) but when then going to System --> WLAN there I could not enable the WLAN. But the Settings-Tool crashed some minutes before that so it may be because of the settings app.

I have an old Linksys WRT54GL, firewall, DNSI, and DHCP passed on to a bigger box that has a USB 4G stick attached. This too causes Jolla to lose the WLAN within an hour or so. It ends up flasing the empty WLAN symbol, alternating it with an empty mobile data symbol with an exclamation mark inside of it. This is solved with the IT Crowd solution, i.e. by turning the WLAN off and on again. Edit: In other words, the WLAN remains "undead", so that the phone will neither transfer data nor switch to mobile data. This is a new symptom that appeared with the 1.0.8.19, but there was a bug presenting similar symptoms back in December.

We have a fix coming on next update (u9) for disconnect issues on WPA2-AES with multiple access points (RSN IE mismatch issue).

Also lots of dhcp-renew/rebind fixes with both ipv4 and ipv6 will be included update 10.

Hi, I am still having issues with the connection to my wireless access point disconnecting. I stream music from the internet to my Jolla and it will disconnect and reconnect at random.

Internet: UK Virgin Media Router: Superhub WPA2-AES b/g/n and TP Link TL-WR710N WPA2-AES b/g/N. App in use: SailWave IP Stream: Multiple Jolla Version: 1.1.2.16

The wifi connection symbol turns into a 'star' and the steam stops once the buffer is empty. It will then reconnect, the time taken for this varies. If I have 3g data enabled then this will connect but requires a restart of the stream in all cases.

I've purchased a separate router (TP-Link) to rule out my access point, I have also test streamed with a Nokia N9 and an Asus netbook to confirm that the wireless connection is not at fault.

It does not drop out when I am browsing via the Jolla internet app so appears to be requiring a different method of keeping a connection alive whist appearing to have no activity.

I still have these disconnects on wifi in 1.1.4.29 (Äijänpäivänjärvi). They appear at random, really annoying
