Is it the wifi repeater that causes troubles? [not relevant]

It all started with Saapunki - never had it before:

In my parents' home, there's a wifi repeater. Of all the places where I use wifi, it's the only one that has such a device. Also, so far, it seems to be the only place where my Jolla has massive Problems with connectivity. (It works flawlessly at my own home an everywhere else where I connect to private WLANs.) Massive means: Whenever I'm using it, several times a day, makes me want to scream.

It all starts with a message on the very top of the screen. My device is set to German, but it says something like "Wrong value entered" and looks the same as the "Connection problem" message. It also has the little gear at the beginning. (That's where my problem starts: What's that supposed to mean, "wrong value entered"?)

After that, the symbol for wifi stays grey like there's no reception, even though I'm only a few steps away from either the router or the repeater. It never recovers.

Usually, this condition also triggers some more symptoms that are even more annoying: When I try to manually switch off wifi and switch on mobile network, nothing happens. The wifi symbol disappears, but the two triangles for mobile network don't appear instead. Also, going to flight mode is usually not possible then. The dot above the plane symbol keeps blinking and eventually I get the message that the settings application is no longer responding. Sometimes flight-mode will work, though, I couldn't find out what causes the issue. If it works, going to flight mode with wifi off and mobile data on and then switching flight mode off afterwards doesn't help: mobile data is still dead. Wifi works then, though, and mobile data will come back up after one successful connection was made via wifi. (However, as most of the time flight mode doesn't work at all and system settings will no longer respond, I couldn't test this very often.)

If flight mode wont work and system settings becomes unresponsive, the only way to go back online is a re-boot. I re-boot a lot these days.

This happens at least once an hour, maybe more often. It never happened when I visited my parents with software versions prior to Saapunki, and it never happened at my place (so far). The one obvious thing about my parents wifi that's different from all other's I use successfully is the repeater. (It also happens sometimes that my parent's DSL connection acts up, so that devices are still connected to the router, but can't connect to the public internet. That doesn't happen so often, though, so I somehow doubt that this is the reason for the Jolla phone behaving so strangely.)

In my setup I have two wlan modem/routers in the house, first connected to wan and second connected to first one with cable and set up as access point. After Saapunki update I can only connect to internet via the first router. Trying to connect the second, my Jolla ends up to notify "connection problem" every 5 seconds until I reboot the phone. While trying to connect other networks when this happens, all attempts fail and notification keeps coming.

I'm at my parents' again over the holidays and don't experience this problem any more. Cannot tell which update fixed it, but I'll just close for now.

The first part of your problem sounds very much like this: https://together.jolla.com/question/47764/bug-jolla-loses-wi-fi-connection-after-a-while/

In my case there is no Wi-Fi repeater involved, but I get the same grey Wi-Fi indicator, without being able to actually connect.

Do you also get this "wrong value entered"-message? I'm really curious where it comes from.

No, that doesn't happen in my case.

Maybe have a try with the new connman firmware:

in my case is more stable. Some problems are still there but it's ways better.

Problem is that my parents don't live near my place (I'm already home) and I don't see them very often. I'll probably be there again in August or so... Doenst make much sense to install this connman preview now.
