Google contacts - changed avatar never synced

That is related to this https://together.jolla.com/question/1097/bug-transparent-avatar-from-google-contacts-sync/ and this https://together.jolla.com/question/46855/how-to-clean-google-contacts-cache/ discussions, however, from my point of view that's a separate question. Story is:
1) 1.0.7.16 update with "To device only" contacts sync mode
2) Yes, quite many avatars don't sync from first time. But, if made any change on Google site, e.g. add any letter in notes, and manually Sync on the device, updated contact appears in People app. Existing avatar appears as well
3) With one exception. If existing avatar on Google is updated on new one, new picture never appears on Jolla device. With all other details Sync continues as on previous step.
Few days ago i tried the same with "Two way" sync mode. Same story with changed avatar, the only point Sync stopped at all and didn't work for few days. Today i just reinstalled google account and started from scratch as above.
