We should be able to filter duplicate questions from TJC, from both the ALL and Unanswered categories. It could improve readability of these streams.

Isn't using the duplicate tag enough?

I don't know if you can exclude tag from a search.

in the autocomplete search it would be nice for duplicates to remove (not other ones) cause this is how i try to find the original one for marking a duplicate...

problem is that after a while a specific post has dozens of duplicates making it difficult to spot the original one for marking a new dup

Even that this question is older, and even that I've answered it myself too, I suggest closing this as duplicate just because the issue is more widely discussed here (including filtering duplicates): https://together.jolla.com/question/22632/need-ability-to-remove-closed-questions-from-listing/ What do you think @Sfiet_Konstantin?

Now that an extended tag panel is taken into use, it's possible to:

  • add a tag duplicate when closing a question as a duplicate
  • add that tag to your personal "ignored tags" list
  • select view option "exclude ignored tags"

To some questions, tag duplicate is already added. For more older questions there's quite a lot of work... but maybe if ppl do some retagging whenever they happen to read one of those, they might get tagged too in time. Unfortunately there's now way to search all question closed as duplicates, but if either the question or any answer includes the word "duplicate", that can be used as a search term, and those questions already marked with the tag can be excluded from the result with the extended tag panel.

@simo if I retag some of the old questions they are lifted up even the minor edit check is applied - Is it good or bad or we just need to live with it as the dublicate tag is more important?

@Kari Afaik retagging does not lift up a question, if using the "retag" button. Editing content of a question or an answer does (retagging with "edit" button)

@simo so far I haven't been able to get the retagging to work.

If I click the retag link the tag field opens, but I can't figure out how to save them. So I have been force to do it via edit and save with minor change ticked.

Needs some guidance for retagging please ;)

@Kari There's a huge lag yes... after retagging, press enter and just wait until the writing line changes to new tags. If it takes long: click outside, click back to the writing line and press enter again. It finally does the job. cc: @eric

@simo - I knew it => always something simple and stupid what you can't figure out - Thank you for the guidance.
