Data counters reset

The mobile data counter is reseted to zero without selecting the "Clean mobile data counters". I don't know when it's reseted exactly but I check it from time to time and the values are always low (less than 1MB) after 3 days of usage.

This is happening to me as well. At first I thought this may be because of disabling mobile data, but I disabled and enabled mobile data on purpose and it didn't reset. Ditto with restarting the phone.

Can't replicated the behaviour here, my counters for both mobile data and WLAN look normal. If you manually reset either/both does the behaviour still occur?

Just to be sure, did you take out your SIM card at any point? That will reset the counter.

My counters also look both normal.

Still problems in 1.0.8.19.

I resetted roaming manually and after leaving roaming area the values jumped back to zero. At the moment the counters are not trustable.

Same problem for me. Like Jukka, I figured out that it was related to removing and reinserting the SIM card, but I cannot find clear repro steps, it's just that sometimes the counters are reset. The behaviour I have observed is:

  • If I take out the SIM and reinsert it without reboot, sometimes the counters don't change, sometimes they display "0 B" after I remove the SIM, but they come back to their original value few seconds after I reinsert the SIM.
  • If I take out the SIM and reboot the phone, the counters display "0 B". When I insert the SIM, they take back their previous values after few seconds.
  • If I shutdown the phone with the SIM and boot without SIM, same behaviour as above.

So I'd say that normally, the counters values come back when we reinsert the SIM, but sometimes, the data is lost and they start again from 0B. (note: they aren't necessarily reset at the same time. I had the case where the "Home" counter was reset and not the "Roaming" one).

I have not removed my SIM (nor reset it by hand) but still my mobile data counter got reset. I thought it had something to do with switching between 3G and Wifi, but I have been unable to reproduce it so far.

have the same problem as mvdheijd, at first I thought I accidentally pulled down "reset"-command, but then it happened when I wasn't even near the phone

I'm staying home and have disabled my mobile network and also WLAN.

If I reset mobile data counters manually than both home network and roaming send and receive counters are reset to 0 B.

But if I switch back to Settings->System and forth to Data counters than the values are

Home network
Sent: 5.5 kB
Received: 6.1 kB
Roaming
Sent: 1.8 kB
Received: 2.1 kB

If have tried this several times with the same result.

That is a bug. First I have no connection enabled and second I'm in my home area and not in roaming.

Switching on flight mode leads to 0 B values for all 4 counters. But switching off flight mode again shows the above values.

I have a shortcut set for the datacounters. Using that I tried resetting mobile counter several times without effect. Counters cleared but when returning to the counter page values where set back to previous values.

I tried without the shortcut and cleared both mobile and wlan counter and now it seems to have worked. I think clearing the WLAN counter at the same time did the trick. Maybe having mobile data enabled when resetting has something to do with it.

Edit: This seems to be my issue: https://together.jolla.com/question/4575/bug-clear-mobile-data-counters-works-only-for-few-minutes/
