tjc tmo and IRC are getting more and more requests by users who forgot their lock-code (security-code aka device-lock-code aka lock-code aka device-security-code), some can be revived by telling that it is a 5-10 digit code and that it is the code used when they boot their phone.

Make users aware on the settings page that forgotten lock-codes cannot be reset without sending the device to Jolla. I know there are features in the planning to have a remote reset from your account, but that does not help a device without internet access. (Probably a good idea to have an option to have internet turned on in some way to reset but that is a topic for the remote features)

@chemist just to confirm - Is the lock-code in question the same what is set through lock icon on system settings or is there some other locking related on the developer tools?

@Kari there is only one security-code aka device-lock-code aka lock-code aka device-security-code and yes it is set in the settings and no it is unrelated to the fields in developer-mode settings. The one code to lock your device, if set, it is asked/needed to make a factory reset, unlock the bootloader, login after boot or even unlocking the lock-screen when enabled.

@chemist Thanks for additional clarification on this one. I have always used the "lock-code" on Nokia phones. There I typically selected the SIM-lock i.e. lock-code was only asked once, when the sim-card was changed.

As I have not really played around with the developer side (even I have opened it) I was bit nervous, if there was actually something that I missed when I opened the developer tools/menu on the Jolla phone.
