A component to behave like a cover action

I like the cover action gesture and thought about using it in applications. For example, in a Facebook client, a post could be represented as a "cover", and swiping left the post can trigger the like and swiping right can push the comments view.
Of course, this is just an idea, and needs refinements, since putting these "covers" inside an application can conflicts with other gestures (pull to back for instance). Feel free to share your ideas as comments, and propose a better idea as reply :)
An idea might be to keep swipe from left to right to bring up the "drawer" containing everything from groups to messanger and events, and swipe from right to left on events for the comments view. Although some people might prefer to bring the available people with that gesture.
