Is just me and my fingers, but since SF 1.0.7.16 the swipe left and right in the Jolla email client has become really sensitive especially when you try to swipe first time to right or to left after finished reading the e-mail.

I typically keep Jolla in my left hand that there is about 45 degree angle between my thumb and Jolla. This will make my swipe to right to move slightly downwards rather than diagonally to right.

It is really the first swipe that causes the problem with accuracy of the direction i.e. if the swipe is really 90 degree angle to right then swipe action typically works. The swipe pointing down quite often triggers the pull down menu causing the reply action unnecessarily.

Sometimes the way you press the thumb against the screen does have affect i.e. the more narrow the touch point is better the swipe works.

After successful first swipe to right or to left the sensitivity problem related to the direction or positioning of the thumb doesn't matter anymore.

Any similar feeling about the behavior as me on this one?

I see this as well quite often. First I thought it was me being sloppy with the pull to get to the list, but then, when I thought about it, I noticed that I actually use the same direction in my second pull and then it works. So two identical gestures, where the first fails and the second works.

It seems there isn't many of you having this issue, but I found personal workround howto handle the problem.

When opening the email to the reading view, it is simply enough to touch the screen first and then make the swipe gesture i.e. two gestures instead of one swipe to exit the reading view.

Most likely the ones who will scroll the mail up and down will actually initiate this first touch, which activates the succesfull swiping.

@Mohjive I would say the new SF os 1.0.8.19 has done the trick and I would close this question as answered - Do you agree?

@Kari: no, I'm able to reproduce it 100% just now. With html mail (doesn't "work" on plain text), scroll down a bit, now push left or right doesn't work first time. Second time it's ok. And every time you scroll up or down the left/right push gesture is broken and you have to do it a second time.

@VDVsx: seems that this also is a html mail bug.

@Mohjive thanks for double check

I tried with TJC notification email and even that mail has short content the using the pulley menu will fail the first swipe i.e. user will need the to do the first touch again.

Now I need to find plain text email...

It's a known issue, please keep it open until fixed. Suggested workaround works, but a bit annoying...

@Mohjive and @VDVsx In my opinion the update10 has done the job and workaround is not needed to exit reading mode of the selected e-mail. Do you confirm?
