Hello,

I noticed after the update to 1.0.8.19 that the Email app shows that it had synced the MfE account (outlook.com) five days ago.

But I've received Emails from this account since then and also if I open the accounts Mail I can the Emails with a correct time stamp. (see pictures)

Is this a BUG? Does anyone else encountered this?

@Spock112 - Does it change if you manually sync from the inbox of that account ? That timestamp is only updated if a full sync without errors is performed.

@VDVsx: So if I do at manually in the Mail App (either on the top screen or in the MfE folder) Jolla fetches Mails and plays a notification. However it takes quite a time and on the multitasking view the Mail app says the German equivalent to "Synchronization failed" and the timestamp is not updated.

@Spock112 - So something wrong with the sync, do you have any large email failing to send ? You should see a notifications in the events view and also you should have the email in the outbox of that account, if that's the case.

@VDVsx: Outbox is empty as well as the notification in the event view. BTW since 1.0.8.19 notifications also seems to have a bug for me: If I download something in the events it says for example 8 files downloaded, if I click on it, there is only the one downloaded shown.

@Spock112 Can you collect logs for the Exchange account ? something is wrong with the account.

enable logging, in:

/home/nemo/.config/Nokia/activesync.conf

Enable file log and add a path for the log, like for example:

   [FileLog]
   Enabled=1
   Path=/home/nemo/Documents/as.log

Reboot the device and then reproduce the problem, wait until the sync is finished, examine the file to see if you want to remove some data, your email address, calendar entries names and folder names can be presented there, send me the logs to mail-logs at jolla dot com. After that turn file log off again by setting "enabled" to 0.Thanks a lot!

Hi again,

after VDVsx inspected my log file it turned out, that the sync fails with some contacts. Probable because of the protocol change in MfE. He suggested to delete the account and recreate it. And that solved the problem.

However the error message is - from my point of view - misleading. As you suspect the error to be with the Mails and not with Contacts or perhaps the Calender. I would have preferred a Error message in the events view that clearly states, "synchronization of contacts failed ACCOUNTNAME".

It's the third time I'm having this error after the last update and everytime deleting the Account and Contacts and then setting it up again is not a real solution. I hope they manage to find the reason of this error.

I have seen in several places mentioning the protocol change in MfE. Did you get any mention that work is being done to the implementation to address those changes?

EDIT: After reading more about it, the MfE implementation on Jolla has been changed and it was advised to delete and recreate the account to avoid errors. I have done that several times already after the last update, so this is clearly not the problem I'm having.
